Come on down for shearing time at Ambury

Auckland Council was pleased to announce that the ‘The Ambury flock’ are lining up for one of their twice-yearly trims, an event always popular with spectators from all over Auckland. 

The shearing of Ambury Regional Park’s 600+ sheep will take place on Saturday 18 May, weather allowing.

The golden weather has been very helpful to the Onehunga Foreshore Restoration project’s earthworks over the past few months – the new coastline has started to take shape. An open day is being held so the community can have a closer look at how the new land is being formed.

Auckland Council release: Waste Minimisation and Innovation Fund

Giving a local historic building a new lease on life

Twin brick buildings from the 1920’s, used as manual blocks for school children around Auckland, have been transformed.

Onehunga resident Amanda Easterbrook took on a ten year lease from KiwiRail for the historical buildings at 82 and 84 Selwyn Street.  Having already worked on 82, she has just completed restoring the neglected second building, No. 84, over nearly ten months.

It’s CAB awareness week and the Onehunga Citizens Advice Bureau- one of the busiest branches in the country- is focusing on the theme of Tenancy. As a free service CAB offers advice on a myriad of issues, including tenancy, neighbourhood disputes, budgeting and immigration.
